As they transitioned into the legal cannabis industry, we helped them launch as a social justice-driven brand in MA. Our approach involved creating an engaging user experience and interface, as well as updating their online messaging and product photography to better reflect their brand. To enhance the website’s functionality, we integrated a hero video and flower photo slideshow on the homepage, added store locators across the U.S., and developed an elevated e-commerce experience to support future customer loyalty and e-commerce integrations. The result was a website that allowed Rebel Spirit Cannabis Co. to reach a wider audience of customers and increase their online presence. Honorable Mention: LV Chamber of Cannabis, Dope SEO Dope SEO helped non-profit Las Vegas Chamber of Cannabis stand out in a highly competitive market with their website redesign. Best Live Event Marketing and Sponsorship submissions include experiential marketing of a brand, service, or product through memorable experiences or promotional events. Best Live Event Marketing and Sponsorship: Clio Awards The 2022 Clio Cannabis Awards celebrated and recognized top creativity in marketing and communications in the cannabis space. The awards are selected by a jury of top executives across brands, agencies, and companies within the community who evaluated entries across 14 mediums. Entries were submitted by the community highlighting work made public during 2021 and part of 2022. The awards show was presented during MJ Unpacked at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Best Overall Campaign submissions include full campaigns that utilize different types of media, such as television, radio, print, and online platforms. Campaigns are not solely reliant on advertising and can include demonstrations, video conferencing, and other interactive techniques. Best Overall Campaign: Veritas From December 1, 2022 – February 28, 2023, Veritas launched their 4th Annual Ski + Snowboard Giveaway. Partnering with the renowned artist Birdcap on the skis and internationally respected artist, Yu Maeda on the snowboard, every Veritas pre-packed product came with a chance to win a pair of limited edition skis or a snowboard each week. A total of 15 pairs of Icelantic x Birdcap skis and Never Summer x Yu Maeda snowboards were given away to lucky participants. Honorable Mention: Social Cannabis Social Cannabis was lucky to be awarded the first and fourth Denver Social Equity License. We feel very fortunate for the opportunity because we would have never gotten it without the social equity program. As a result, we wanted to embrace the program and give back to the communities/people it targets (people affected by the war on drugs and local lower-income neighborhoods). When a participating vendor's item is sold, the participating vendor would donate .25 cents, and Social would match that, so 50 cents would be donated for every unit sold. We would then pick a charity that embodies the social equity program each quarter and donate to that non-profit. Best Packaging Design submissions include packaging for ancillary and licensed products. Best Packaging Design: Escape Artists In market since 2017 and the leading topicals brand in Colorado, Escape Artists embarked on a brand refresh in early 2022 with goals to leverage design to stand apart from the growing roster of premium cannabis brands. We leaned on our roots and foundational design elements (winged logo) but introduced more thoughtful approaches to design with respect to our core customers and how our products resonate on store shelves. Honorable Mention: Malek’s Premium Cannabis Malek’s Premium Cannabis has established a strong, recognizable brand image through its signature pink packaging across product SKUs, referred to in our marketing and sales processes as “pink packs.” Best Use of PR submissions include public relations and crisis communications. Best Use of PR: Durée & Company With Cannabist’s plans to enter the new medical market of West Virginia, our team devised a campaign to position Cannabist as the go-to resource for a friendly, uncomplicated shopping experience for medical marijuana patients. In our PR/awareness campaign, we drafted announcement press releases for each dispensary location based on its demographics and target audience and proactively pitched the brand’s unique offerings, including its proprietary award-winning technology, Forage, that helps patients select the best product for their use. We also coordinated on-site photo shoots and interviews. Best Retail Experience submissions include how retailers interact with and engage customers in-store. Best Retail Experience: Budder Creative The Budder Groove System (BGS) is a merchandising kit of parts designed to address the unique retail needs of the cannabis industry. BGS offers brands and dispensaries a scalable, updateable, and easily customizable merchandising toolkit that supports all various product form factors and instances both on-shelf and under-counter. Best Use of Apparel submissions include clothing. Best Use of Apparel: Higher Promos Green Mart’s dispensary team is active in community service & outreach. Using these high-visibility safety vests, they keep their team safe and promote their cannabis brand as an active, caring community member. Proudly displaying their cannabis leaf logo design as they give back to the community, the Green Mart team advances the public image of the cannabis industry and consumers. Best Use of Programmatic submissions include automated technology for media buying and their campaigns. Programmatic Honorable Mention: The Clear™ Key Takeaways: – 5,087 products sold directly to online shoppers who saw ads and purchased ($239,673 in retail priced revenue*) – ROAS $24.06 return on every $1 spent – Avg Cart Value- $73.45 – Purchase rate increased 3.3x when shoppers saw ads.
