What is the Future of Cannabis Marketing Event?
The Future of Cannabis Marketing event is a forward-thinking, half-day virtual Ted-talk style event.

What the cannabis future that we want?
What cannabis marcom leaders need to do now to shape that future and why?
When and where is the Future of Cannabis Marketing event?
The event will take place virtually on January 19, 2021, from 10:45 am to 2:00 pm MT.
What is the schedule for the Future of Cannabis Marketing Event?
It will start with an hour-long speed networking session from 9:30 to 10:30 am MT. This will be held on a separate platform before the start of the event.
The event will kick-off with 15 minutes of opening remarks before going on to the five topic sessions.
Each session will be approximately 20 minutes followed by 10 minutes for a live question and answer.
The event will end with 15 minutes of closing remarks before moving on to the VIP only Speaker’s Post Show Roundtable.
What topics will be discussed at the Future of Cannabis Marketing Event?
The session topics will be:
– Future of Branding
– Future of Retail
– Future of Ad-tech
– Future of Agency. This refers to topics within the agency space and can designate PR, advertising, design, etc.
– Wildcard. This refers to topics that don’t fit within other categories, like Destigmatization, Policy, International, Fighting Prohibitionists, B2B Marketing, Print, Events, Media.
How do I get tickets?

Early bird tickets are on sale until November 27, 2020. This will be the lowest price for tickets.
Advanced tickets go on sale from November 28, 2020, to January 12, 2021
General admission tickets are on sale from January 13, 2021, till the start of the event.
Regular tickets and VIP tickets will be available.
What does the VIP ticket include?
The VIP ticket includes access to the Speaker’s Post Show Roundtable and all the benefits of the regular admission ticket.
The Speaker’s Post Show Roundtable is an hour-long discussion where the speakers will talk about the behind-the-scenes planning of their talks, tease out important concepts and debate what the most important theme was from these sessions.
Do I have to be a CMA member to attend?
No. Anyone can sign up to attend the event, but CMA Members get an exclusive discount on tickets.
Although, to be a speaker or on the Host Committee you must be a CMA member.
Can I speak at the CMA event?
Speaker applications are open to CMA members only.

How do I apply to speak?
CMA members can apply to speak on the CMA member portal.
What should I keep in mind when applying to speak?
Remember that these speeches are Ted-talk-style events, they are “ideas worth spreading” not product pitches.
The talks are 18 minutes to present one idea. Less is more. The goal is to go deep on one idea.
Consider the prompt of these talks: What is the cannabis future that we want? What do cannabis marcom leaders need to do now to shape the future and why?
Use slides sparingly, if at all.
